Abstract: We develop a Lattice Boltzmann model (LBM) for reactive binary fluids to model reactive biogel dynamics, especially, biofilm growth under the influence of nutrient. The mean velocity in this mixture is the mass-average velocity while the excessive velocity of each individual component is accounted for by the free energy density of the mixture system. The linear stability analysis reveal an unstable mechanism for long wave instability due to mixing. A 2-D simulation is carried out for biofilm-flow interaction in a channel.
