Abstract:Quantum discord (QD), which is proposed as a definition of quantum correlation that may be more general and more fundamental than entanglement, may have extensive applications in quantum processing and computation. Because any quantum processing or computation is a dynamic progress interacting with a certain environment, study on the dynamic behavior of QD under an environment is quite important. In this talk, we will show the classical and quantum correlated dynamics of a two-qubit system in a XY spin-chain environment. We mainly study the sudden transition behavior of QD and compare its behavior with that of entanglement under different spin-bath sizes and coupling parameters. We also analyze the scaling behaviors of QD. In addition, the behavior of QD under strong coupling condition is studied.
