Abstract:This talk, at the tutorial level, will introduce the basic features of quantum computation and communication. In particular, the role of entanglement in quantum computation will be discussed and the basic algorithms including Shor's and Grover's algorithms will be presented. Application of quantum interference in optical lithography and secure communication will also be reviewed.
