Abstract: Ultracold Fermi gases with remarkable controllability provide an ideal platform to investigate the phenomena in condensed matter physics. Since the effective Spin-Orbit(SO) Coupling has been realized in experiments in Bose and Fermi systems, the topological properties of the SO coupled Fermi gases have aroused extensive concern over the recent years. Many new phenomena have been explored such as the topological superfluid, Majorana Fermion, topological phase separation, etc. In this talk, I will present our study on the two-dimensional SO coupled Fermi gases for the trapped and uniform cases under the mean field framwork. For these two cases, the systems show the coexistence of the superfluid phases with different topological invariants which we called topological phase separation. Finaly, I will briefly introduce our recent work about the Time-Reversal invariant topological superfluid in the bilayer SO coupled Fermi system.
