Abstract: The noise has been shown as one of the most important factors in gene expression which cannot be neglected. With the intrinsic noise perturbation, metastability arises naturally. In this talk, we develop a general framework for identifying the switching paths, the mean switching times and finally reconstructing the quasi-potential of the whole system. The analytical results are in good agreements with Monte Carlo simulations. Our framework takes DNA into mathematical models, quantitatively reveals key features of genetic switch and can be applied to other non-equilibrium systems.
