Abstract: The quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relation (EUR) has been one of the focus of people’s research interest in the past two years. It states that with the aid of a quantum memory, the uncertainty about the measurement outcomes of two incompatible observables can be reduced. In this talk, I will begin with a brief review of the fundamentals related to this EUR, and its latest developments since 2010. Then I will give a recapitulative introduction of our recent works in this field, including some new viewpoints from the perspective of quantum correlations, mechanisms responsible for the reduction of the measurement uncertainty, and its application in quantum tasks such as quantum teleportation and entanglement witness in open quantum systems.
