Abstract: The Chebyshev spectral collocation method is applied to solve for multiple solutions of a semi-linear elliptic equation, thus a search extension method (SEM) based on Chebyshev spectral collocation method is designed. Under the basic assumption that the true solutions are nonsingular, the existence, uniqueness and the error estimates for the numerical solutions of this method are verified.
