About the Speaker: Dr. You-Jin Deng has been a physics professor of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) since 2009. He has also been an adjunct assistant professor of UMass Amherst, USA since 2010. His current research interest mainly focus on novel simulation techniques (classical and quantum Monte Carlo methods, transfer-matrix techniques) and their applications, theoretical and computational studies of phase transitions and critical phenomena, and quantum simulations (cold atom and optical lattice).
