A Brief Introduction to Dynamic Nuclear Polarization of NV Center in Diamond

Speaker: Dr. Wen-Hui Hu (胡文晖), Beijing Computational Science Research Center

Abstract: The nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center is widely studied in quantum information processing and quantum metrology, etc. One of the most important advantages of the NV center is the long coherence time of the electronic spin even at the room temperature. Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) is one of the schemes to protect the coherence. Nevertheless, the coherent time in experiments is far smaller than the theoretical prediction. In this report, we briefly introduce basic properties of the NV center in diamond and the DNP progress of the nuclear spin bath in the rotating reference frame. We notice a polarization saturation of the bath nuclear spin, which is dependent on the applied magnetic field, the spin-locking time of the microwave driving field and the laser initialization efficiency of the central electronic spin.
