Abstract: Understanding the properties of plasma is of importance and challenge in inertial-confinement fusion (ICF), and controlling implosion dynamics should be essential for ensuring success of ignition. Knowledge of temperature relaxation rates in plasmas is crucial to simulate the evolution of the fusion capsule in ICF experiments or to interpret the measurements of diagnostics. Here, I will give a brief introduction to the BPS theory, which is suitable for weakly couped plasma system, and its applications to the energy loss of charged particles (proton, and alpha particle) moving in plasmas (DT+Be plasma, and Pu plasma) with high temperature.
