Abstract: Modeling the effect of the viscosity with asymptotic models for water waves is a challenging issue. This talk will introduce some efficient numerical schemes for solving a water wave equation with a nonlocal viscous term. A series of linearized differenceschemes are presented for the considered model. The existence, stability and convergence of the proposed numerical schemes are established rigorously. The analysis shows that the proposed numerical schemes areunconditionally stable with second order accuracy for bothtemporal and spatial discretizations.Several numericalresults areprovided to verifythe efficiency and accuracy of our theoretical analysis.
