Abstract: It is well known that 2D Q-state Potts model exhibits order-disorder phase transition at some critical temperature which can be expressed as a function of Q, and the phase transition belongs to different order when Q varies. In the talk, we would introduce some existing results on the phase transition, and show our simulation results in the vicinity of the critical temperature. Finally, we would propose a possible mechanism to give a physical interpretation for the distinct order of phase transition.
