Turbulence Modeling: Closures for RANS and SRS Approaches
Thisshort course will start with a brief summary of the one-point Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS). The strengths and limitations ofRANS approach will be examined. The need for scale-resolving simulations (SRS) will be motivated. The PANS (partially-averaged Navier-Stokes)method of SRS approach is derived and demonstrated over a variety of test cases.

Direct and Large Eddy Simulation of turbulent flows
1. Numerical simulation of unsteady flows: numerical methods, resolution requirements and data statistic treatment.
2. The computational costs of Direct Numerical Simulation: physical and computational motivation for Large Eddy Simulation (LES). The filtering concept. Filters in space and in spectral space.
3. Derivation of the filtered Navier-Stokes equations (LES equations). The subgrid scales closure problem and the basic Smagorinsky closure.
4. Advanced closures for LES: dynamic and ILSA models.
5. Boundary conditions treatments: wall conditions for LES (resolved and modeled approaches), inlet and outlet conditions for DNS and LES (synthetic turbulence and outflow conditions).

1. 报名方式:本次培训实行学员自由申请制, 申请连接:http://cn.mikecrm.com/KWPQsTc,院内外科研人员或在读研究生均具有申请资格。申请者的入选资格由委员会审定,并及时通知申请者。
2. 申请时间:即日至2017年06月2日,06月04日将关闭报名通道,不再接受报名。
3. 培训费用:本次培训班院内人员不收取培训费,培训期间提供午餐。往返路费及住宿自理。

五、注册、签到及证书颁发(院内人员)
注册时间:6月4日 14:00-17:00,注册现场发放会议资料及会议期间午餐票。
签到时间:培训期间每天上午和下午培训开始前15分钟开始签到,培训开始后停止签到,迟到视为缺勤,不再补签。
证书颁发:培训班会结合学员的上课出勤情况和听课效果颁发培训证书。缺勤两次即取消证书颁发资格。
