From Scattering Amplitudes to Gravitational Wave Physics
Speaker
Dr. Fei Teng
Fudan University
Abstract

I will introduce various scattering amplitude techniques that are used to solve problems in classical general relativity, with emphases on effective field theory matching and observable based formalism. I will demonstrate that scattering amplitudes provide a novel perspective in understanding subtleties like spinning objects, memory effect and BMS transformations.

About the Speaker

Fei Teng got his PhD from University of Utah in 2017, and then worked at Uppsala University and Pennsylvania State University as a postdoctoral researcher. His research interests are in scattering amplitudes and their applications.
