International Workshop On Image Processing and Inverse Problems
Welcome to the International Workshop on Image Processing and Inverse Problems, which will be held on April 21-24, 2018 at Beijing Computational Science Research Center, Beijing, China. The workshop is jointly organized by Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics and Beijing Computational Science Research Center. It aims to bring together experts on image processing and inverse problems based on optimization or PDEs. Topics of presentation are devoted to design and analysis of mathematical models, design and analysis of computational algorithms and applications of such models and algorithms to specific problems in industry.
It has become an established paradigm to formulate problems within image processing and inverse problems as some minimization problems with properly chosen energy functional. The solutions of these minimization problems leads to some variational problems or finite dimensional optimization problems. This compact, yet expressive framework makes it possible to incorporate a range of desired properties of the solutions and to design algorithms based on well-founded mathematical theory. An increasing amount of research has also approached more general problems within data analysis, real world imaging and reconstruction, and demonstrated the advantages over earlier, more established algorithms.

Visa & Travel
Visitors to China must have a valid passport and, in most cases, an appropriate Chinese visa. Please check at your earliest convenience with your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate General for details on visa application. It is advisable to apply for the visa at least two months ahead of the workshop.
In general, a Tourist Visa (L Visa) will suffice for you to attend our workshop; and you do not need any invitation letter for L-Visa application. However, in cases that a Business Visa (F Visa) is a must, you will need a letter of invitation issued from the Organizing Committee. If you need an official invitation letter or any further assistance on visa application, please contact Ms. Sining Wang (ipip2018@csrc.ac.cn).

China local time is ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) by 8:00 hours.
The Renminbi is the legal tender in the China. It is issued by the People's Bank of China. The official abbreviation of Renminbi is CNY, but also commonly abbreviated as RMB.
The electricity supply in China is 220 Volts and 50 Hz. Notebooks in 100-250 Volts can be accepted but some appliances requiring 110 Volts would need a voltage adapter. The electrical sockets require three (or two) round pin plugs.

Each workshop participant is invited to present one research poster (height 120cm and width 90cm) at the workshop. If you wish to present a poster, after you register for the workshop, please email a poster abstract (1 page A4 size .pdf file) to ipip2018@csrc.ac.cn by 10 April.
Each participant whose poster is accepted is responsible for printing the poster (single sheet 120cm by 90cm) and bring it to the workshop. We will provide facilities for you to hang and display your poster.
