2012-11-15 10:58

During November 13 - 15, 2012, “The Workshop on Frontiers of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information Science” was successfully held in Beijing Computational Science Research Center.  The workshop was organized by Laboratory for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information, CSRC. The themes of the workshop include: the interaction of light with matter, the nonclassical characteristics of radiation field, quantum simulation, quantum information storage and communication, etc.

Prof. Roy J. Glauber from Harvard University, the winner of Nobel Prize in physics ( 2005 ), was invited to visit CSRC and give an academic talk entitle “The Quantum Mechanics of Light: Interference, Entanglement, and Ghost Imaging”. Several famous scientists, such as Prof. YU Lu and Prof. YE Chaohui from CAS, Prof. GAN Zizhao and Prof. GONG Qihuang from Peking University, Prof. ZHU Bangfen and Prof. WANG Lijun from Tsinghua University as well as Prof. ZI Jian from Fudan University also participated and gave their talks in the workshop. It attracted over 100 scholars in the related fields.

The workshop provides a platform of academic communication in discussing the recent quantum optics and quantum information problems and latest progress. We believe that it promoted the scientific research exchanges and cooperation in the field of quantum optics.
