The 5th International Workshop on Frontiers in Quantum Physics and Quantum Information (QPQI5) was successfully held at Beijing Computational Science Research Center on May 24-26, 2017. The workshop was preceded by tutorial sessions, held on May 22-23.

The main objective of this workshop is to stimulate the interactions between the fields of spin-orbit coupling and spin dynamics. It will bring together the leading scientists in these two fields to present the very recent theoretical advancements. This workshop is open to experts in the fields related to quantum physics and quantum information, as well as scientists and graduate students who are interested in this fast growing area of physics. Over 70 participants attended this international meeting, including Prof. Amnon Aharony and Prof. Ora Entin-Wohlman from Ben Gurion University, Prof. Mats Jonson from University of Gothenburg, Prof. Hsi-Sheng Goan from National Taiwan University, Prof. Wei-Min Zhang from National Cheng Kung University, and Prof. Hang Zheng from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

During the three-day workshop, 19 invited talks were given. This workshop successfully provided an academic platform for discussing important issues in Spin-orbit coupling and spin dynamics.
