In this seminar, the current developments of two important numerical methodologies,the direct sampling-type methods and the adaptive-type methods, will be reviewed for solving general inverse problems, including the necessity and effectiveness of the methods as well as their applications to some typical nonlinear inverse problems.

邹军现为香港中文大学卓敏数学讲座教授以及数学系主任。他的主要研究方向是偏微分方程正反问题的数值方法和分析，曾为“德国洪堡基金学者”，教育部“长江学者讲座教授”和“国家海外高层次人才引进计划”专家。邹军分别于2019年和2022年当选为美国工业和应用数学学会(SIAM)会士和美国数学学会(AMS)会士，现为12个国际计算数学期刊编委，包括SIAM J.Sci.Comput.，SIAM J.Numer. Anal.，M2AN，IPI等.
