Focused Activity on Mathematical and Computational Methods for Quantum and Kinetic Problems
2017-07-25 09:14

During June 7-14, Focused Activity on Mathematical and Computational Methods for Quantum and Kinetic Problems, including a four-day summer school during June 7-10, and a four-day workshop during June 11-14, organized by Applied and Computational Mathematics Division, has been successfully held in CSRC. The event has attracted over 120 participants from China and abroad.

Quantum and kinetic problems arise in many areas of sciences, engineering and industry applications. Analysis and simulation are two basic tools for the study of mathematical models in quantum and kinetic problems. During the summer school,  there are four tutorial speakers giving lectures, including Prof. Eric Cances from Ecole des Ponts and INRIA, France, Prof. Lorenzo Pareschi from University of Ferrara, Italy, Prof. Jose A Carrillo from Imperial College London, UK and Prof.Weizhu Bao from National University of Singapore and CSRC. The summer school provides an opportunity for local graduate students and junior researchers to learn the state-of-the-art knowledge in quantum and kinetic problems as well as their applications.

This workshop brings applied and computational mathematicians as well as physicists together to exchange the latest developments in the study of quantum and kinetic problems, identify future directions and unsolved questions, and actively initiate collaborations.
