屈晋先、孙琪同学参加第八届院研究生学术交流会获奖

院研究生部第八届学术交流会于2月2日至3日在绵阳举行。中心物理系统模拟实验室屈晋先同学参会作15分钟口头报告,获二等奖;应用数学实验室孙琪同学参会展示张贴报告,获三等奖。

院研究生学术交流会议由研究生部与人事教育部共同主办,旨在活跃我院研究生学术氛围,拓展学术视野,展示研究生优秀科研成果,促进各学科研究生之间的交流与学习,增进研究生与导师之间的交流与沟通,提升研究生学术报告能力。会议包括邀请报告、口头报告和张贴报告。

报告题目:HgTe quantum dot in the Topological Insulator

报告摘要:For a topological insulator quantum dot, it have the edge states in the edge of the quantum dot and the bulk quantum dot states.

Ordinary materials have the band gap, but the topological insulator have no band gap in the edge. With this region, the electrons stay in the highest states.

We will make a comparative study the quantum dot and the quantum hall bar of the edge states VS. normal states:

(1) How they respond to external perturbations, such as electric field;

(2) The changes influence by magnetization.

报告题目:CVOD-based Reduced-order Modeling for Stochastic PDEs

报告摘要:Today, model reduction plays an important role in the approximation of complex dynamical system. We briefly review the proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) and centroidal Voronoi tessellation (CVT) techniques for low-dimensional approximations of a snapshot set. Then we compare their advantages and disadvantages and come up with an idea of combing CVT and POD into a hybrid method CVOD that inherits favorable characteristics from both its parents. Detailed properties and algorithm are proposed, along with a comparison with POD and CVT.
